Yep, and seeing as Dutch businesses have been earning quite a lot of money out of 'green energy' it's possibly the most crass of a long line of stupid policies produced by the shower of imbeciles that were elected last year.

Wherever the debate on CO2 leads, this will make the country dependent on buying uranium at ever increasing prices from saharan islamist dictatorships. Oh, and world uranium supplies are expected to run out at about the same time as oil.

What a shame; NL used to have such sensible governments.

The high grade stuff's in turd world tulipholes; other than that, the Australian stuff will all be bought by Asian economies. Add in the costs of building and decomissioning nuclear stations and dealing with the admittedly not entirely rational protests, political processes and court cases and it's a financial non-starter.

My argument for wind energy is quite simple; in Holland it makes money.

Isnt Holland a low lying flat country ?
surely if they abandon their CO2 targets it will make the sea levels rise dramatically and they will be flooded. Thirty years ago the warminsts predicted a 10 m rise in sea levels and its only been the wind turbines that have kept the sea at bay.

This is madness by the Dutch and this time next year they will be drowning in a boiling sea or being eaten by migrating Polar bears
