Also, if you live on an island you don't need to drive far...

So by that rational the exchequer should tax the welfare collecting south london to buggery?

The isle of Mull and Skye cover more area that greater London, what are you smoking? Can I have some?

It's the high rate of tax that's the main problem, then goes high cost of oil on global spekulatives markets and then a few pence in logistics.

So what your saying is the garage down the road from me charging £1.30 is a good guy and the one on the remote Scottish island charging £1.50 is a robbing toe rag and none of that extra charge has to do with getting the product up there?

What I am saying is that in both cases three most important robbers are the Govt (via taxes) and oil market spekulants who drive up prices, and finally Govts again for printing money.

btw, last time I refuelled at local Shell I paid £1.40 for liter of diesel. If I was on a remote Scottish island I'd be grateful I can get any fuel at any price at all.

You were the one linked petrol prices specifically in those locations to the struggling economy.

The isle of Mull and Skye cover more area that greater London, what are you smoking? Can I have some?
Skye appears to only have about 5 roads, most of the land is apparently not even reachable by road. Far less driving is needed than in London.

It's full of English settlers anyway, yet to meet a local any time I've been there.

Driving all the way up there would be pretty expensive.

Just so long as he fills up before he goes, and takes a spare Jerry can.
