At one end of the spectrum is highly conformant sociability. I.e. sheep. Disney & MacDonalds customers.

At the other is people who have hobbies, are happy with their own company, take an interest in mathematics / physics / the world around them, people who ask questions, people who do what they think is right rather than what the herd says.

Since the media is full of air-headed, liberal arts graduates who insist on dumbing down anything challenging, is it any surprise they have managed to manipulate a social situation whereby ny child that is capable of sitting at a canalside fishing for a day, or spending all afternoon building an Airfix kit is now considered 'abnormal' or 'a bit autistic'?

Think back to our evolution. What the hell is a hunter-gatherer society made of? There's individual hunters and team hunters. There's sole gatherers and social gathering.

We are meant to be different, FFS.

It frightens me that we 'medicate' children that do not conform to an arbitrary definition of 'normal'.

We consider it appalling the awful ways that 'different' people were locked up, operated on, electric-shocked or whatever old-fashioned, barbaric system was in use.

Our new-fangled, barbaric system is profiling, labelling, separation and medicating.

God help any child that would be content spending the day on the hill side tending the goats: it is obviously 'emotionally challenged'.
