You are paying £177 insurance on Ford Focus?

What engine, age of car, milage per year and where is it insured?

I am paying £550 for bloody nearly 10 year old PUG 307

Yes, Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec, 2003, ~60,000 miles, Direct Line

Maybe because you are in Birmingham. I admit I am surprised at my quote and even more surprised that it continues to go down. They will be paying me soon

Just checked last year's policy and it's direct through Direct Line as far as I can tell, rather than through a dodgy third party.

Perhaps "e" in "Direct Line" is in Cyrillic.

Don't you mean the 'n' in Line?

Something I feel is somewhat unfair - I can only drive 1 at once and if I had an accident, no doubt I'd have to declare it on both policies! To cover this v reg pug 206 which cost me £400 off my cousin, at my address, the cheapest I could get was over £800 with zero NCD. As the car is staying down south I put my mates postcode in as the details as to where the car will be kept. The quote came in at £246.
What you should have done is bought an identical model and colour to your original car and put a second set of plates onto the new car

...but of course that would be illegal

Compare the market just knocked £210 off the renewal quote for me. And I get a free meerkat toy as well
