You do all realise that you are going to have to give up the booze?
I recommend horse riding - burns about 400 calories per hour. I reckon that if you go on a pub ride (assuming a pint is 250 calories) you are still ahead on the deal.

Why doesn't he wear a black beauty mask, drop his trousers and then enter a field of stallions. I reckon he'll burn more than 400 calories per hour trying to avoid that lot!
Though watching local "runners"/"Joggers" they are doing more damage the way they run and would achieve more by walking efficiently.
1 hour running == 4 hours walking
It is a no brainer if you want to burn calories.
Also runnig being damaging is a bit of a myth, don't run down any steep hills, don't bother stretching and jog for 10 before you run and your legs will kepp in good shape for decades of running.

If you stretch before etc... and ensure to have the proper shoes then fine, its the long term damage/wear and tear on ligaments, hips, knees, ankles, I know way too many ex runners who've had hip replacements/knee operations etc...
To each their own as we say It's what you enjoy, and if it helps you keep fit and lose weight then great!
I nipped out this morning and bought a Wii Fit Plus with the balance board thingie
We got one of those for Chrimbo. Quite good fun but too many of the "exercises" do you very little good. The jogging bit is quite fun though as you don't have to leave the sitting room, but other than that it is more of a novelty thing really.
No real way round it than to get out pounding the streets I fear.
Plus it must have its software algorithms screwed up. It is suggesting that my ideal weight is a few pounds less than I weighed upon completion of the London Marathon in 1984 aged 25. After cracking the 3.5 hour barrier!!!

Haven't playerd with it much so far but I'll give it a go. Worked up more of a sweat with the sports pack that came with it, especially the boxing game.
