Hmmm, I'm reading this right? £200 a day less than you're getting in London is still about £100 a day more than a typical Manchester gig? Allowing ~£100 a day for living costs working in London compared to home, it's an even better deal. Apologies if I haven't read it right.

What a paid of cvnts. When they contacted me, a week ago I told them my rate. Did the tech interview yesterday and then met with them today. All the way through they were aware of my rate. Then today after meeting with them for an hour they ask if I would drop my rate by £200 a day. £1000 a week, 50k a year drop. What a crock of tulip.
Do you work 50 weeks a year? If your standard rate is 500 per day what's the problem? They're negotiating. Counter with 100 per day less if you want the gig. If not, walk away. It's business.

Sound advice.
I've had it happen to me, but they wouldn't budge, got something else a few weeks later, but I understand the disappointment.
