Is there anything more weak-minded and meaningless than having "faith"?
I'm with minestrone on this one. Everyone has the right to believe what they want to believe. And we should respect that. Disagree, agree, but respectfully. In an effort to avoid this becoming Religion UK and in the interests of impartiality after having a go at sas & kandr for exactly the same reasons... this thread will be merged with the other one concerning religion.
Religion is a personal choice and unless that personal choice impacts on other people then it is fine. People have the right to live the way they want to.
What a load of wishy-washy drivel. Who stole minestrone's password?
We don't need morals just practicality. We know what makes us happy and what does not; "do as you would be done by" is enough, reinforced by adequate teaching of citizenship.
If we had no defined morals or laws at all would society be total anarchy? Going from social animals, no. There would be power struggles for leadership, there would be tribal conflicts, the weakest would mostly be eliminated or abandoned but generally it would work quite well. Meercat Manor is man without laws.
