Beckham was a fine player, you not get to that level by being crap. It is laughable that people are getting on his back now. I thought he spoke very well for England in the last week (even if he does have a squeaky voice) and could truly be said to be a great ambassador for the sport of football in England.

But his free kicks were never as good as this...

Not sure we should be concentrating on just one player anyway. How many of the current England team would find a place in the Spanish, German or Brazilian first 11 (or in Barcelona's team for that matter!). I personally doubt more than a couple.
