Get a fooking full time national team - make Premiership clubs play once a week against national team - since they are full of foreign players anyway this should give good experience for the national team that will be doing it every week.

A lot of countries pick their teams from the English lower leagues - including Conference/Blue Square. They seem to do better than a team mainly from the Premiership. My solution is better - make EPL clubs play two extra games against national team - 40 games per year, that covers 40 weeks for constantly training working as a single unit national team: those guys could be nobodies but they'd have to perform or they are out.
