-6 outside Tester Manor according to car thermometer.

However, it didn't feel too cold as there is glorious sunshine.

I've seen it much colder here in eastern NL; I think the lowest I've seen is -21 last winter.

-1°C here. Eventually had to put the heating on as the internal temp had dropped to under 7°C and it hurt when I crawled into bed.

You still not gainfully employed then?

Get down to B&Q Granulated Salt 25kg, 5060009330817

Even if you don't need it you can use it in the dishwasher, last year I was pouring the 'finish' branded stuff on my drive at £1.50 a kilo.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

My cars readout was 0.5C when I left Glasgow, went up to 2C as I reached Edinburgh. No snow that was promised, maybe it will come later allowing me to make an early exit.

Good call on the salt, forgot to get any last year until it was too late.

Next door on our new-build estate has a Jag in their garage, though to be honest I'm not quite sure how it fits. A double garage is a good for a big car though.

Au contraire Mr Spod, work from home office - been doing this for last 8 years or so - fixed price direct to clients.

However, just finished a block of work and now working on Plan B - expecting some more work coming in after Xmas, if not, might have to go back to contracting.

Last year, with all the other things going on, work was a bit sparse however.

Way back when I managed a whole week's work with a fx brokers I remember being told about an IT contractor who had bought himself a nice new Ferrari. When he got it back to his three bed semi he found the only way to get it into the garage was to park it just outside and then roll it in. Obviously the same in reverse occurred when he wanted to take it out. I think it lasted six months.
