No garage is big enough for modern cars - like most, mine is full of junk.

The car port on the other hand - no doors to faff about with, just drive the car under it.

While you're in Deutschland, fill up the cellar with some Deidesheimer Riesling Spätlese. It's delicious when young, but ages even better than Monica Bellucci. I had a 1998 at the weekend, and only have one bottle left; sod the Frogs (although some of their Burgundies are extremely good), this stuff is among the best white wines in the world and relatively good value for money. Better still, take Lady Darmstadt to the Deidesheimer Hof for a weekend of indulgence.

Do you get snow? I imagine a ramp to underground parking would be a nightmare when icy... even with street parking, 90% of the problems here are people trying to get on/off the estate since there's a hill and they don't grit cul-de-sacs.

Way back when I managed a whole week's work with a fx brokers I remember being told about an IT contractor who had bought himself a nice new Ferrari. When he got it back to his three bed semi he found the only way to get it into the garage was to park it just outside and then roll it in. Obviously the same in reverse occurred when he wanted to take it out. I think it lasted six months.

True story.

I worked with a permie guy who bought himself a Magnum PI style Ferrari. It wouldn't fit in the single garage of his modest semi, so he had the whole of the downstairs dining room and attached garage converted into a double garage to allow him to park it in the house.

Man he loved that car. Probably why his wife left him in the end.
