You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

You're insane, you haven't got the hang of how threads work or who owns them have you? But have your Colditz only thread.

Is this the right thread to mention Dads Army? Similar era IIRC
Jim is a Jedi! - Dara
Jim is EVIL! - Jenny Eclair

I remember the Last of the Mohicans series, but only very vaguely.

I agree on the lack of music in the Colditz series, plus it was obviously made on a small costume and scenery budget, but the acting and script quality very clearly made up for those so they're not really noticable. Secret Army was similar in many ways.

I have vague recollections of this as a kid and also (even more vague) recollections of a board game. Would have liked to have set the record thingy but had no idea it was on. Is it being shown on iplayer (or whatever)?

Not in the UK at the mo so tend to miss these things.

Oh, welcome back bogey old chap. Winters in Canada too cold?

Suddenly discovered Colditz (circa. 1972/3) was being shown on the 'Yesterday' channel.

There's also a box set of DVDs available. About time too!

Anyone remember watching this the first time around?

It was all, more or less, based on fact, with a bit of dramatic license here and there. All the esape plots are based on actual (or attempted) escapes. The main protagonists are usually easily identifiable with their real life counterparts.

Best thing is, there is no incidental music, which makes the dialog and action even more powerful.

                    I love it. Brilliant stuff.
Glad to see you back in town, Bogey. Can't say I've seen the program.
                    Hard Brexit now!

Never played the board game (or even remembered it for that matter).

I'm back from Canada (VC) until mid Jan. Not really had a very cold winter there so far. In fact it's seems colder and damper here in the UK at the moment.
