      Yes, agreed with the lack of soundtrack on Colditz, added to the atmosphere.

      I've got Das Boot in the original German on DVD (with English subtitles), the translation isn't up to par but so, so good.

        Only vaguely remember 'last of the mohicans', but the modern film has great background music.

          I actually prefer the German one with the bad subtitles. Feels more authentic somehow.

              I did find the music a tad heavy though - it drowned out the dialog at some points, and the camera work was pretty dark.

              The book was good as well.

                    A friend of mine contributed 10 seconds of music to the soundtrack (a horse and carriage going over a bridge), he got 10k for that - a thousand pounds a second, how's that for a rate?

                    The main theme was composed by another friend of mine and no idea what he got for that gig
