When the B.O.E. agreed to print money when the F.R. printed money to keep the £ in line with USD. That brought an end to good rates for £ with Euro.

here near Victoria station where all the eastern Europeans arrive it is best to exchange money at one of the kiosks. This is because the eastern europeans are very very careful about such things.

I once changed some money in Zurich airport and then checked the rates when I arrived in Manchester airport and was shocked to see what lousy rates Manchester were offering in comparison.
