      I know - I'm one of the Elite too - I simply make these posts to rub the non-Elite faces in it - they see the gross injustice
      of the situation - but they are powerless to react .

      And so onto the next phase.

      So more televsion , drugs .coverage over multi-millionaire footabllers who arent even very good - caught with their pants down , immgration hate figures , the Chancelor is a tax dodger but thats cool - that keeps them sedated for a while - but wait till they see then next load of policies - they ain't seen nothing yet !

        How typical is that? Stop reading the daily mail. There are many who are simply unlucky. You up to this point have been lucky. Its pleasant to believe it was all your own work but no-one here can honestly claim that luck paid no part in their current circumstances.

        'how the other half live' was an interesting tv program, BBC so might be on iplayer.

        It is better to have compassion than believe in cartoon stereotypes in a black and white fake world.

          It's separate question - those guys are being dealt with, albeit not as harshly as they should be, but extra tax take from bankers runs in billions of pounds.

            Are you serious?

            I turned down 2 permie jobs during the credit crunch and put myself in the line of some serious hardship for a few months before my 'luck' paid off and I now find myself in a much better contract due to a decision I made not to take either of those perm roles. I chose to contract, get exams, build my CV etc etc that got me into a 'better' situation and I'm where I am as a direct result of that choice.

            Risk/reward + hard work != luck!

            It's the entitlement mentality that they're tackling now and it's about *^%$ing time!

                well I havn't bothered to read the full thread but it may be interesting

                if you ever have the misfortune to end up on one or more of the dodgier areas of twon you will notice that they are generally tulip heaps because of the people who live there

                so get them to tidy their own house, tidy their own streets and garden etc - while the work done may not be great what it should do is give people some sense of worth and responsibility

                I doubt it like because we are dealing with complete chav scum which shouold be shot..

                    It is down to the fact that most of the cabinet are that disconnected from the real world by virtue of their (mostly inherited) wealth that they buy into this Daily Mail stereotype of the long term work shy dosser in his five bedroomed mansion (that WE pay for hurrumph!) surrounded by X-boxes and Sky 3D TV.

                    The reality is that most long term unemployed people are victims of circumstance. Take, for example, a widowed mother of young children. She's going to struggle unless she has some pretty top end skills. How is it going to help her by threatening to take food out of her kids mouths if she doesn't go and pick litter up for 30 hours a week.

                    I'm sure there are people taking the p1ss and claiming for all sorts whilst doing cash in hand work as well. Investigate and catch them out by all means but don't come up with stupid policy ideas like this that are clearly unworkable and unreasonable and demonstrate the fact that you haven't got the first clue what the problem is, yet you are making loud noises about the solution.

                      So explain why . Then maybe you can proffer a better solution for these people. Or like all lefties I presume it suits you to have a poor section of society who can be grateful for the state handouts you give them?
