I'm northern but I hate mushy peas but could probably eat them over the deep fried pizza my borther got in Aberdeen! Pizza straight into the hot chip fat to absorb as much as possible - why does scotland have such a high level of heart disease again?Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

They obviously took you to the "not from round 'ere one".Originally posted by CheeseSlice View PostTrue, southerners really do eat muck!
I was once dragged to an old fashioned london pie and mash shop for the pie/mash/liquor experience. I was promised a taste sensation like never before.
Lies, lies, lies.
I was ill for the next 5 hours
The pie was greasy and bland.
The mash was well...basically mash
The liquor was like green watery paste with no flavour whatsoever.
So little flavour, that the only way to obtain any was to smother the lot in vinegar.. which is apparently the tradition.
I was also offered jellied eels, but I politely refused.
That was a grim day indeed
I have braved jellied eels, but they ain't for me.
Though soused herring with beetroot and horseradish, mmmm.

I've had mushy peas in posh restaurants darn Sarf and they have been inexplicably foul to the point I have wondered WTF they were thinking of.Originally posted by Pogle View PostMushy peas are the invention of the devil
I have had mushy peas from chip shops oop North and they've been scrummy.
I think they may be one of those delightfully simple foods that are spoiled if you try to do anything clever to 'improve' them. Dumplings, Yorkshire puddings and mashed spud are other examples.Last edited by RichardCranium; 26 October 2010, 05:45.My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.Comment
