I know that Labour were in government when the UK signed the Treaty of Lisbon. That doesn't mean that it would not have happened but for Labour. Despite their obligatory opposition ranting, I do not believe that a Conservative government would not have signed it. However if they really don't like it they can speak up now.

And the treaty didn't really devolve any more power to the EU power that hadn't already been devolved.

A fast growing business here in Holland is 'terugbesteden' or 'backsourcing' of software testing; companies have outsourced everything including having their daily tulip to Bob, are disappointed, it's costing them money and they're bringing stuff back, starting with testing. I predict golden times for those who know how to bring it all back.

Hong Kong was lump of mud with a fishing boat, then Britain freed it up for trade with the world. It got rich and helped make Britain rich.

It can work for some very small strategically located places like Hong Kong through which trade was channeled. Try that with China and see how it works.
