Yes, the web site definitely said they sold Director's bitter. But in fact they stopped a couple of years ago, so we had to fall back on some dodgy Speckled Hen and Bombadier.

Also, I had forgotten how noisy the music was. Evidently it's a largely studenty pub.

All the same, it was a good time and great to meet everyone (again in some cases)

Looking forward to the next get together in the new year, and Norrahe is right, - We need to do some reccying to find the ideal place, if it exists.

Any excuse for a pub crawl, me

Could you imagine Nick turning up to a do and having a heart attack. Keeling to the floor and needing help!

'That's not how you do it?'
            'Resuccetration isn't spelt that way?'
            'That's not the heart?'
            'You don't grab it there!'
            'Are you sure that's right?'

There's a few posters on here where it would more likely be:

"Leave him. He's not worth it."
"One fewer to buy a round for!"
              "Bugger. It was his round."
"Get his wallet, then. And get some crisps in while you're there, since he's paying."
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

Damn right - if I don't tell people how to do it that time, how could they help anybody else in the future? (When the cardiologist was talking to the attendant students during the angioplasty I really wanted to ask questions, but I got the impression I wasn't supposed to play an active part in the proceedings )

True, but they'd never show their faces IRL
