It's a bit like sex really - location, location, location.

I worked with a bloke many years ago who bought a launderette. I don't recall him telling me of any horror stories, and he was one of those practical guys who could take things apart and put them back together without any screws being leftover, I seem to recall his weekends were spent keeping the machines running (minor servicing etc).

However these days he most probably wouldn't be able to do that because unless you are a qualified spark with NICEIC registration then you wouldn't be able to take the covers off to do maintenance (legally anyway - and your insurance wouldn't cough up if someone got hurt and you weren't qualified).

Anyway, what's wrong with putting in some coin operated sun beds and a sign saying 'Must be over 16'. Works for other people.

        A quick calc by me...

        £80k fot machines.
        £20k for rent and sevices.

Cost of running = £20 per hour for 10 hours per day = £200 pd

        I'm out!

Maybe n5 and MF can team up. A launderette with wine-tasting to kill the time.

What has location got to do with sex?

I'd want to know why the guy who is selling his laundrette business has it up for sale. I suspect it's not because he can't handle all the loot he is making out of it.
