X/0 does not equal infinity. That's a senseless statement.

Also, what did 10/0 have to do with what HAB posted, I didn't see what point you were trying to make without the accompanying entire pasted copy of the Daily Mail.

      Have some imagination:

      1%

      |
      V

      10/0

Also, should you ever be fortunate enough to have another life, then try your best to study in some good Uni where they'll teach you some fairly basic mathemtical concepts such as "limits".

Still not getting the "10" part. Why 10 rather than 1? Sorry, was looking for the facts not the trick Not bad actually. But on the serious side...

I did a maths/physics at a good university. Sadly they focused on actual mathematics and limits rather than high-school "1 divided by 0 equals infinity".
Unlike economics, maths is the domain of hard facts so you might like to quite before everyone else finds this thread in the morning.

AtW does not get the concept at all. He keeps repeating 'limit' but does not know what it really means.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Answers.com - What does tends to infinity mean

I might be using wrong term "limit" in this context - that's the term that was used in our Soviet Uni.

The key thing is the phrase 'tends to' this does not mean 'at'.

Tends to infinity is pretty damn close to already unspecified very high value, hence it can be said it is infinity.

You'll never understand why that statement makes you look such a fool.
