Good luck with it Tingles. If you manage it do let us know how, we can then apply the same process to Troll.

We haven't had a rockabilly gig in a while, since May actually, just as we really began to "rock" (and billy of course).
This is stressing me out!!!
Two gigs just slipped through our fingers, over the summer.
The world just doesn't know what it's missing.

I asked for redundancy a coupla years ago, then moved cities to look after my ill mother while I finished a degree (I had no friends there which didn't help)... she died last year. I couldn't get a job as was depressed/stressed (and tulip at interviews).Originally posted by Tingles View PostBlood pressure good - went to see someone tonight to get me 'ed sorted.
Nightmare 18months... benched... tough contract... studying... mum died... moved house ... lost 9 stones... started plan B...
--- then REALLY EASY contract and then the wheels have fallen off?

Now, I'm actually in a goodish contract but stressed and getting mouth ulcers. It's because I'm drinking too much red wine and not doing the things that usually help me.
However, some of the stress is I also think is because I spent so much time trying to sort my life out last year am only just grieving now. I find that when you finally stand still it can hit you. In retrospect I should have spent 3 mths abroad last year with an aunt absorbing it all.
Things that have helped me (when I do them!!) are seeing a good therapist, she's someone who gives me practical advice, not talking it through all the time, tho that helps. She does hypnotherapy, breathing exercises and comes up with suggestions to sort out ongoing practical issues I'm dealing with. I don't see her all the time but it helps.
Other stuff that helps : talking, yoga, exercise, walks in the country (nature helps me). Taking time off when I can. Getting rid of any bloodsucking idiots in your life. I find it's not always a simple solution but once you try a few things you know what works best for you. One of my mates went to a group therapy thing about managing your moods.. she didn't like that.. and I can't think of anything worse than sitting with a bunch of strangers like that... but always worth seeing what your gps surgery offers if you haven't already (there are free groups, you can get get referred to exercise classes)
Well done on the weight loss btw and good luck.Comment
