They'd cause more offence by burying the Koran in a pile of horse manure than burning them. Apparently burning is the proper means of destroying copies of the Koran and anything similar.
Own goal I think....well at least amongst the learned. The 90% of programmed illiterates will take a day of work to riot any day for a few rupees. Mind you it will be Eid so most muslim countries will have a day off anyway.

To some it is the "Word of God" and as such they feel it should be treated with respect.

I personally wouldn't burn any book.
