Anyone else just had a fire alarm test in the City?
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office. -
The other year I was at a client site in Bristol on the hottest day of the year. There was a lot of redevelopment going on nearby, and some bozo managed to take out the electricity for the entire neighbourhood. ClientCo's two backup generators immediately kicked in, and one of them almost as immediately caught fire.
We all evacuated the building and hung around nearby in the blazing sunshine while the fire brigade got to work. In what I still consider to be a stroke of genius, the general manager of the place flagged down a passing ice cream van and told him to park round the corner, give us all whatever we wanted in the way of ice cream and soft drinks, and bring in the bill later

This work isn't being carried out by James T K Ltd. is it?quite devious if so..Originally posted by zeitghostWe'd be stuffed here at the moment.
They're replacing the floor coverings on the stairs & you can't use the lift when the alarms go off.
We're gonna burn, I tell ye, burn.
