Perhaps they should just let Pakistan go bankrupt. Then the military and the elites will figure out that the current business plan has run its course.

How easily you confuse religion with culture. Don't forget...there are actually more Muslims in India than there are in Pakistan. Its not about religion its about culture.

As someone has pointed out your stats are false.
And even if they were true they would be irrelevant - the point is that Pakistan is a Muslim majority country and India has a Muslim minority.
No I don't confuse religion and culture, although the two are often intertwined.
What's your explanation of why Pakistan regresses and India moves forward?

I'm betting that religion is the primary factor. Quite a few Muslims are like the Nazis who didn't believe in "Jewish Science" - a statement that makes no sense whatsoever.

While not exactly an Islam fan as some may have noticed, not sure I go with that last. Fair few Muslims among Indians/Kenyan & Ugandan Asians and they mostly share the success of those groups. Pakistanis here are slightly behind, Bangaldeshis way behind. It's more to do with health and the education and standard of English they brought with them.

If it was just a Muslim thing..than why is Malaysia doing quite well? Bangladesh is actually growing quite fast. The Muslims from South Africa and East Africa are incredibly prosperous. Nope this is strictly a cultural issue. I have no idea, but somehow that state has decided it is far better to burn cash on the military and its vast palatial areas and buildings, than educate and build a prosperous country for all.

Someone once said that Pakistan is not a state with a military, it is a military with a state. Doesn't explain all the faults but that's pretty true. And when you are continually bailed out, why would you change your habits?

India was saved by visionary politicians in the early days. Pakistan wasn't. Jinna died within a year and the state has been in chaos since. Nevermind he was nowhere as good as Nehru anyway, so perhaps it wouldn't have made a difference.

As for the local issues. The Kashmiri/Mirpuri Pakistani's just don't care about education or morals or ethics. Whereas the Gujarati and African Indians do.

In my world there are two main islands off the coast of mainland Europe, one can accept that it is divided into three nations (actually two + one principality) while the other could not accept a two nation island
