I was impressed with your advice in the In Desperation thread so I gave you an approve tick. It's a way of showing thanks and appreciation

A reputation process was added to CUK a couple of months back. Mr Fitz will be along shortly with the links.
You can tag posts and hence posters with a positive or negative rep and leave a message. Over a period of time the helpful / funny / liked posters will rise to the top while Gricerboy will drop to the bottom.
You can only leave 5 reps in any 24 hours. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

There are also restrictions on handing out reputations. If you try to give someone some rep twice in a row you are told to spread it around first.
This can be annoying when someone offers worthwhile advice in two different threads and you'd like to thank them for both, but it is pretty effective in stopping abuse of the system.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment
