Great to watch playing snooker, but from what I remember he was a nasty piece of work.

but still a legend.

RIP. My memory may be playing me tricks, but he seemed to rescue a sport heading towards obscure oblivion - sure, players with names like Davis or Thorburn were very skilful, but Higgins pulled the crowds back in.
