Disagree. Large margin, long-term contract is better than cheap and quick.
They certainly love long-term as it keeps adding to their bottom line with the minimum of effort on their part, although even then you have to keep reminding them that you exist. On one contract that lasted two years (eight months @ client site, remainder working mostly from home on monthly renewals) I had to keep reminding the agent to sort out the paperwork for the renewals.
I phoned him one Tuesday (third of the month) to tell him that the renewal documents hadn't come through and he said "Oh, they're not renewing because their budget's been cut; didn't they tell you?"
