    It is, but sh*t happens.

My point is that making up fiction about players is hardly rational insight, is it. It is over-reaction bordering on hysterical to suggest that most of England's players make barely any effort whatsoever when playing for the national team (sorry whoever wrote that, I am not having a go at you personally)

I believe they give their match fees to charity when they're on England duty.

I don't quite agree there - as a team the performance has been rubbish, no excitement and it looks like they're not trying. But all the players have proved their individual skill and ability to play in teams, and Capello also has a proven track record. So it's a bit of a mystery. But when Rooney has a go at the fans, it says to me that he does care, and is fully aware that his reputation is affected by the team flopping in front of hundreds of millions of viewers.

Those overpaid useless bastards are taking the place of someone who want to play for their country.

I wonder if their plane will come home via Munich...

Look at the Chelsea team who did so well - few of their big players have done well at the world cup... Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Terry, Drogba, Malouda, Anelka, etc.
Would you say Terry is a world class defender then?

Yes, he plays for his country on the world stage ergo he is 'world class' compared to the domestic players who do not.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Terry is a world class defender, you do not get to play in that position for a team that has just won the premiership if you are crap. But he is not in the top level of world class defenders, he is a total cock and what he has done is very damaging to the team he has aspirations to lead again.
