AtW - how long would it take a f**king genius, such as Jabberwocky, to reproduce your SE - or is there something new and original and not cribbed from a text book or pasted from the internet ?

Clearly you have a patent for such original search technology. If not you are stuffed already.

If AtW was the genius he claims to be, don't you think he would have come up with the Million Dollar Homepage [http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/] instead of farting around with his stupid SE thing?

Say what you like about the lad who came up with the $1M page idea. I say good luck to the boy - and he'll go far.

We need more cheeky little buggers like that, and less wanky dreamers like AtW.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Why do you need link? First crawl 100 mln pages to get started, this is about 2 TB of data, then index them and have public search engine that will allow to search fast, support proximity matching, dynamic user-editable scoring etc.

              Then we can talk.

Sorry Atw but you sound like an absolute dick who knows nothing about SE tech. There are a ton of you guys out there - suggest you start a forum for frustrated Google Wanabees (more money in it, probably).

Aside from the tech problems of spidering and indexing web pages (no mean feat in itself to get right), what EXACTLY do you understand "proximity matching" to mean, and how would you achieve this?

As for "dynamic user-editable scoring" - how many users of an SE could be arsed to 'score' the results of any given search.

                    Dream on boy.

                    Bogey

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

The SE market is now mature - it depends on who has the big bananas to fund the fast servers to give rapid search results and coverage - that is what people care about. If you have a new search technology which you have patented then someone might buy you out. Other than that they could reproduce whatever you have done in a few days AtW.

The successful ideas in IT are not necessarily clever or elegant, the people are just there first and satisfy or generate a demand eg. MS, WWW, Google
