I'm definitely a die-hard contractor and can't see myself going back to permie unless I'm forced to by circumstances one of these days, but I'm useless at business and the kind of ruthlessness you ideally need. For example, at the moment I'm working on a quite high-profile project, but I've been offered a really nice role back at an old client - better rate, better location, longer contract. I should just walk out of my current contract (which ends this Friday), but I really don't want to leave them in the lurch as I'm the only front-end developer on the team and there's a load of work to be done. So I've signed up for another four weeks, and meanwhile I'm trying to hang on to my other client and keep that role alive and they don't like it and I can't please all of you can I so leave me alone! I should be far more detached, but I'm useless at that.

Do you know someone who could do your current role?
