Nick had been benched so long, Admin took pity and asked him to redesign the site.
He gathered his requirements in the drug dens of Marrakesh and then wrote the code in a week from the coffee bars of Amsterdam.
Nuff said. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

Oh, and make it work considerably better in IE6 and 7 than vBulletin's own forums do.Comment

I find it quite fascinating that, although Churchill had started a thread complaining about them eight days before the forum software was upgraded, people still seem to think that they arrived at the same time. The ads had already been here for some time before he started that thread. Admin could probably provide the exact date. I know they'd been annoying the hell out of me for yonks.
(They were also in the same positions to within an insignificant number of pixels vertically and horizontally.)Comment

I found the ClearSky ad incredibly irritating at first when the new site was launched despite the advert being exactly the same as it was before.
We were all so used to the old layout that we were all probably tuning out all the extraneous noise and only focussing on what we were interested in, in the same way as parents seem to be able to completely tune out the sound of their children making horrendous amounts of noise.
With the new layout we had to go through the process of re-learning what was relevant and what was noise which is why the ad became annoying.
I can tune it out now and it doesn't bother me any more.Last edited by Gonzo; 14 May 2010, 07:31.Comment
