Round by us they've started a zero tolerance policy where people caught without valid insurance or tax will have their cars sold or crushed.

You're a soft target so they're going to throw the book at you.
It looks like they've caught a serial offender. Speeding, no MOT, invalid insurance...
It's a shame they didn't find a dead body in the back, you would've got away with a 6 month suspended. As it is... big bubba's gonna love you.
If you can't do the time... etc.Comment

Kin - El this all gets better and better. I keep my little green bit of paper which allows me to move my tax revenue generating machine around, inside my passport. This is kept inside a package in our bedroom. So I get the car MOT'd (and fixed to the tune of £400) and then go to get the driving license out of the passport. But Noooooooooo. The passport is not there and so neither is the little green paper! I have spent all day turning this effing place upside down to find a needle in this effing huge haystack. If I don't find it I will be looking at going to see plod with no driving license and a MOT which was out of date!
You couldn't make this sh1t up and friday the 13th as well - although it isn't now!
And why was the passport not where it was supposed to be? Because I had to copy the photo part for my bloody agent and didn't put it back. So agents are to blame!Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Tony, you are clearly a dangerous criminal who needs keeping off the roads to ensure the safety of the rest of us.
Speeding, no MOT, invalid insurance, no driving license. I bet you're an illegal immigrant as well and all this talk of "oh dear, officer, I appear to have lost my passport" is just an attempt to distract attention from the crack dealing operation you run from your council house.

Tell me about it! All these years with nothing and then I pretty much get the whole set in one day. At least I have paid to insure Gordons money making monster and Direct Line have confirmed this. No doubt the certificate will come back in the name of Mr M Mouse.
I might give the lottery a go to see if my luck continuesRule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Tony,
I wish you luck in getting it all together, sounds like a complete nightmare.
Even though I have a filing cabinet for all important household documents, do you think I can find what I need when I need it ? Can I feck !
I often think, with the complexities of life and demands on personal time becoming more and more annoying, that wouldn't it be great if there was like a personal PA service for subscribers.
Ok...here's an explanation in detail.
NMH (No More Headaches) is a subscriber-based company. The concept is to fully manage all the hassles we have running our lives, and in return we have more time to enjoy with our friends and family.
NMH host a secure service that brings together all the demands on your time and effectively manages them for you.
Services
NMH will store all your insurance documents and inform you when they need renewal.
They will inform you when you need to tax, mot or service your vehicle.
They will remind you when important diary dates like birthdays, anniversaries are due. You can even use their online services to purchase appropriate gifts and cards. You can use their automated system, which means you dont have to do a thing....tell the loved one to create a gift list and NMH will manage it for you.
NHM can be redirected will all your bills and reminders, and can manage them for you.
There is probably a lot more NMH can do.....these are just some ideas.
Essentially, it's like having another you..that takes care of all life's troublesome details, whilst the real you can get on and enjoy lifeOf all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

BGG you are on to something.
"We" (because you'll need an ideas man) could use Tony for an endorsement. Something along the lines of: "My ring piece would still be it's normal size if I'd used NMH and stayed out of jail."Comment

I think you are onto something here. No doubt there would be loads of legal guff to take care of, but it would be useful to have these type of things held off site in a secure location. In the case of my cover note, I never keep track of that as I know the insurance company is just a phone call away.
I have checked with the DVLA and a replacement license is a 3 to 4 week wait. How slow are their printers?
If the thing doesn't turn up my approach is going to be this
1 - can't complain about the speeding. That was a fair cop and my stupidity.
2 - The MOT. I was unaware of the car being out of its MOT by a short time. I have proof that I purchased the car on 30th Jan 05. Yes I should have checked the MOT paperwork but I took the salesman at his word, that the car had a full 12 month MOT. If I knew it didn't have a valid MOT, then I would not have been driving in such a way as to draw myself to the coppers attention would I.
3 - The missing license. I cannot be the first person who could not track this down when asked for it. It was not in the place I usually leave itRule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
