"Get the car MOT'ed quick (like tomorrow). It might not do any good but it certainly won't do any harm."

That's my plan at the moment!

Thanks for all the advice - It is very much appreciated!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

Here is another hint - if police stops you next time and tells you to follow them into police station they have to caution you saying stuff like "everything can be used against you", normally people just follow after that however here is what you can do - you can say that you do not understand the significance of their words - make it clear you don't understand, and demand PACE manual - they don't always carry it with them, however if they will refuse to bring it to you there and then, then it will be serious procedural mistake that can allow you to get off in court later. Its good idea to record secretly if they would laugh at you or just beat you up silly.

The car is now booked in for its MOT. And today is Friday 13th!

Yes those 24 hour MOT places are few and far between!

Sorry to hear about that Tony, I was bombing down the M56 over christmas at those sort of speeds. What kind of car was the unmarked car? Did it have wheel trims?
You may get away with taking your current MOT, they have so many dickheads on the front desks these days you will prob be OK. But if you have a mate with a Garage, get him to back-date a book in for you to cover your back ( You are entitled to run it to a center without an MOT).
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

And you missed the 8pm appointment because some dick stopped you for speeding.

A couple of minor problems to fix and it will have its new MOT. Insurance comapny is sending me a copy of my cover note (can't find the one in this dump!) I have my original cover note showing when I changed the insurance over to this car i.e when I started driving it!. I'm hoping that by showing the original insurance was changed on Jan 31st last year, that the car went through its MOT easily (i.e. road worthy) and the fact that it was sold to me on the grounds that it had a 12 months MOT (rather than the 11 it actually had) that I should be relatively OK.

Any chance you can translate that into English?
