As a highly paid contractor, surely you just need to get out the spare car and not worry about the few quid for new alloys - you could just sell it and buy a new clean one.

And I expect it was a business trip anyway, so you can charge the mileage to company expenses.

The convertible is the spare car. Only comes out in the sunshine, sunshine.

Even though I drive bangers, I look after the tyres and of course the wheels. Often you see people mounting a kerb, e.g. to negotiate a car taking up too much space on the right, but I don't follow them. I don't drive up kerbs, at least not at acute (glancing) angles.

The police take a rather dim view of drivers going up the kerb just to get round someone who's taking longer than they think necessary to turn right.

As the others said though, it's only a car.
And if it's THAT important to you (IMO its a common as muck 3 series convertible, I lose count of how many hairdressers I see driving them every day), then don't let her drive it!
It's not as if she took it out without asking you and then kerbed it.
