    Witch doctor arithmetic

    Oh how I laughed.

The Tories claim that they will scrap the proposed 1% rise in National Insurance, and this will benefit the NHS because they will have less NI to pay.

So the State's biggest spender will benefit from the State having a lower income?

Ri-i-ight ...... what kind of arithmetic do they teach in those posh schools?

Well that money was not heading for the NHS. Thats right we're broke it would have to pay for other things. The LAbour government have restricted the NHS income next year to just the same money as this year.

Yes, the NHS won't have to pay the government more NI

      Better than yours obviously!

Making government departments pay the treasury more in tax out of their budgets that comes from the treasury makes sense how?
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

You do know, don't you, that NICs are just thrown into the pot with all the rest of the taxes?

It makes sense because it's proper accounting.

Or, so Labour can say they've increased (or not cut) NHS spending, whilst actually ensuring there's less money in the NHS by taxing them more.

Sorry Tarq, but new LAbour maths is bottom of the class.

I've a good idea; if we employ shed loads of people in the NHS, civil service, etc, then we'll have loads more tax/NI revenue. That'll solve the budget deficit.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Well, that's the point: this effectively brings more and more of the economy into the public sector. That way it can be run for the public good rather than for the profit of the few.
