Not really. It speaks volumes about a few people's ability to make judgements without any real basis. And a smaller group's inability to cope with change.

Unfortunately I think I have to agree with him. I have nothing against the current crop of mods, they are all thouroughly nice people, but would the gag have worked if Ferret and Scotspine had still been moderating?

I'm not convinced that the gag worked with any moderator, but if it had been ferret and sp, no-one would have even considered that it was anything other than a wind-up.

The fact that people were prepared to believe it was a possibility, as I said, speaks volumes.

On recent form... perhaps.

Ferret always had a good sense of humour and SP opted for a rather public goodbye thread.

The biggest difference IMO is that the former mods didn't post very frequently so their opinons and behaviour were subject to less scrutiny. The fact that the appointment of the new mods has coincided with Admin's decision to 'refresh' the rules probably hasn't helped their cause either.

I still think it was funny
