I would use the same id (apart from on any professional forums) but I often find that I have been the victim of identity theft on other forums and have to use something else.

Nope I don't. Mainly because I forgot which email address I originally signed up here with.
I also don't use my real name on any of the forums I post on as my real name can easily be found on the web, particularly as anyone who does some amateur sport can easily be found for years and years and years....................."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

I wonder about web anonymity, I have a link to my site here and don't hide my identity. Googling my name shows my site as no 1 and some links to other sites on page one where I have an account or whatever.
I can find references to articles or contributions going back years and wayback machine has many iterations of previous site versions both personal and business.
I can't think of any reason why I should be more private with my web identity nor has it caused me any problems. I did have my bank account cleaned out a couple of years ago in a identity theft incident but that turned out to be an inside job.
Should I be worried? What's the worst that can happen?Comment

I tend to use the same ID for all sites - including AVForums! (but not the same password), it's just easier and I've got nothing to hide....my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...
