As for the name the offences were committed in - that was changed by deed poll and I was charged as Alexander, rather than as Colclough. Either way, the effect is the same.
Turning to the question of working in financial services, I work for an NBFI (non-banking financial institution (and no, I'm not telling you who it is, but yes, I did 'fess up to this at interview).
If the "clearance" referred to is the requirement in some senior roles to be FSA authorised, I am not authorised by the FSA and never have been (nor do I wish to be). Some years ago I went through the process but left the organisation prior to its conclusion.

What is it to you how the Finance Industry hires? Are you the arbiter to employment to the finance industry? Do you work in the finance services industry?

It's odd to think that there's so much muck I could throw about here, and I consider that I'm taking the moral high ground in not doing so.
As for you, Boudica and Cliphead (and others) - who are you to judge me? As others have said before (despite not being remotely religious) if you've never done anything in your life that you've ever regretted, why don't you throw the first stone?
