The RL thing is definitely changes your perceptions and interactions with people on here.

Most obvious for me was Churchy, without meeting the guy I just though he was a little Englander, Scottish hating big ginger heeded Sassenach (And a mason). Which may all well still be true, but actually we got on like a house on fire, and ever since I take most of his anti Scottish stuff with a pinch of salt.

Guess on a forum thinks tend to get polarized, so only extreme attitudes come to the fore.

Everyone I met were good people. It does feel a bit weird at first going along to an internet gathering, and I've yet to tell my wife I went along to a couple of doos (It'd just be too hard to try to explain, and it's not as if I was out cheating - I just said I was at a work thing ...).

First one I did, I had to escort CM (safety in numbers, sort of) and I had an alternative get-together lined up in case it got too geeky.

            You mean he's NOT??

I tend to agree, in an odd sort of way I would guess that in TRW I would probably get along best with those I argue most with on here. They are mostly contentious argumentative stubborn sorts too. Not that I am likely to attend one of these bashes, living so far from civilization and having a missus that could turn me into a newt (again) if I even suggested such a thing.

I''ve met quite a few of the cuk types and none seem like their online persona (apart from NF who spent most of the xmas bash on his iphone )

I look forward to meeting some of these guys again at the up and coming bash.

Though I fear I may not be long for cuk in light of recent events and will keep on online presence till the bash since it was myself who proposed the drinks (muchly persuaded by RealityHack and Zippy and a few beers).

Would be very sad if another top poster left CUK

I think I have probably had my fill now too, really not the same place I am used to.

No big deal I guess, things change - but it's a bit of a shame for poeple like you who have been around for a long time.
