The RL thing is definitely changes your perceptions and interactions with people on here.
Most obvious for me was Churchy, without meeting the guy I just though he was a little Englander, Scottish hating big ginger heeded Sassenach (And a mason). Which may all well still be true, but actually we got on like a house on fire, and ever since I take most of his anti Scottish stuff with a pinch of salt.
Guess on a forum thinks tend to get polarized, so only extreme attitudes come to the fore.
Everyone I met were good people. It does feel a bit weird at first going along to an internet gathering, and I've yet to tell my wife I went along to a couple of doos (It'd just be too hard to try to explain, and it's not as if I was out cheating - I just said I was at a work thing ...).
