      How many bedrooms is that?

I have a 7 bedroom place, double garage, conservatory, pool, three receptions, five bathrooms and I pay £130 per month for both gas and electricity.

To be fair though the cleaner and pool maintenance costs a freaking fortune though!

I need to get out of this craphole quicktime.
If you take a look at the CPI index (you can see the breakdown of its constituent parts at the ONS website) you’ll see the problem. According to CPI figures, the price of our shopping basket today is a mere 20% higher than it was ten years ago. Strike you as odd?

Take a closer look and you’ll notice some stark differences in the constituent parts. Fuel is up 174%. Hairdressing and dentistry are up nearly 50%. That’s proper inflation. But it’s been offset by sliding prices in audio visuals - down 65%, photographic & cinema equipment - down 79% and clothing - down 45%.

I notice they have just updated the basket again, taken out more staple products and add BluRay players.

Fact 1 - BluRay players are only going to get cheaper, artificially making it look like your inflation is only a few percent.

Fact 2 - I don't know about you, but I use gas and electric every day, I don't however buy a BluRay player every day.

We both know that you throw them away after you've watched one film on them, remember, you said you didn't want anything second-hand in your house?

Yep baby food is out and so are canned soft drinks.

FFS, are people really this stupid now?

Answer yes. I blame Big Brother and txt speak.

To say that fizzy drinks have been replaced by Blu-ray players is somewhat disingenuous.

The actual link is here - http://www.statistics.gov.uk/article...d_Services.pdf

Canned drinks have been replaced by a bottle of water. Not saying that's right, but it's defo not a PS3.

Like I said, mine used to be £130 but the winter just gone was harsh.

5 double beds, 18 radiators in total. Separate thermostats for downstairs & upstairs. Gas fire in the lounge..
The biscuit is probably taken by the electric underfloor heating covering 40 sq. metres in one room downstairs.

What's next - replacing bottle of water with "council juice" from tap?

Come to think of it the bloody water now costs £400 per year for house I rent, FFS - £2.50 for 2 bottles of 2L diet coke in local Tesco.
