If I operated a site such as this, and someone used it as a means to commit a fraud, I would not want to allow them any access in future.

It could be seen as complicity in any future wrongdoing.

      Very good point.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

it's a public forum , that means all public can see it, which is most likely I guess the way that you found it, you stumbled across the site, you didn't have to pay for the privilege and so you stayed and began reading.

It certainly used to be or what I took it to be, It's a shame the level of trust has gone and it's attracted/attracting more nefarious types. I expect you will tell me it's always been that way, but I don't think it has, so the question is.
I have to agree on this, admittedly it is a public forum and you cannot control who registers and who doesn't.
It does feel like that trust isn't there anymore.

I Think what makes me more uncomfortable is the fact he is brazenly posting, after all he has done, without even apologising for his earlier behaviour.

I know the OP quoted from many a news item, but who are we to know what really happened or of what happened was even half the truth.

We know something about the MO, we know what he was convicted for, we don't know what he wasn't convicted for, was fraud part of it? But hey, fair dos let's wait and see! Keeps things interesting. Probably will become a hoisted by your own petard situtation. Stay tuned for the next installment!

One thing to consider is that if something happens that would bring newspapers attention back to this person they'd include this forum in the list where he was posting: it's one thing when nobody had a clue what he was up to, but totally different when he comes back and allowed to continue. Legally there should be no liability but it sure can bring some bad publicity in the possible even of re-offending.

I don't like banning people, but IMHO in this case if he posts under nick nobody associates with him then it's one thing - we don't know so we don't worry, but if he keeps posting stuff and everyone knows who he is then it's a bit of a bridge too far IMHO.
