Define sockpuppet. Why assume the number of posts forms part of the definition? I've already said he could have a sockpuppet, that (or those) sockpuppets could be older than his RC identity.

I've always assumed a sockpuppet was as you intimate above, i.e. an alternative identity formed after the original one and one that plays a minor role to the main "character". Is that wrong?

I don't think it's been defined. I would suggest the real one is the one most closely allied to the persona of the real perosn. The one that goes to a CUK party for instance, and says hey I post as XYZ.
