Frank Field being interviewed on Radio 4 where he talks about the recession immigration, serious, serious unrest to come, etc. He seemed so sensible and plausible all the way through that I had to Wiki him, but discovered that he is actually a Tory.

Labour MP talking sense
Last edited by TimberWolf; 24 February 2010, 10:29. Reason: Edit: His bit starts over half way through the clip -
ISTR the only reason he joined Labour was because he couldn't stomach the Tories' policies on apartheid. -
I get the impression that Frank Field is actually a conservative, but likes to represent poorer people and constituencies in parliament and knows that the only way to get elected in those places is to stand for the LieBore party. Genuinely good guy, although I don’t agree with him on bringing back national service. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

He's really a tory?
So that's why he is against means testing and all those other disincentives to saving and fending for yourself.Comment

He has integrity - one of the few that do..."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
