    I remember my grandma used to serve heart (with stuffing) with roast potatoes and veg, but whenever I suggest we should try it sometime, my own kids run away screaming like I've turned into Hannibal Lecter
    Oh yes! Stuffed heart, I remember it well, very nice. From a different age though, money was tight and offal was cheap. My kids won't eat any offal, Mrs. W will eat liver, and I love it all.

    Having said that, I've never have, and never will, eat eyes, brains, or testicles, so I have to sympathise with the kids when they flatly refuse to even try liver.
    The vegetarian option.

      mmm testicles. I didnt know what they were at the time, but after the bull fights in Spain I used to enjoy the large portions of cojones. Till one day I got a tiny portion for the same price. When I queried the bill, the waiter said 'ah senor, today the bull won'

        shocking that, bearing in mind where you live.

        I haven't had arctic roll for ages. Might have to buy some, 'for the kids'.

                    Me mam's champ (with a fried egg on top).

                    And her tattie bread.

                    And her Irish stew...

                    <sigh>
