Oh! Halo just to make him happy don't slap him....
I'm saying nothing. I'll leave to comment if she wishes.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Oh I absolutely agree with that.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostNot at all. Continue to play. But hanging around a Games Workshop playing games with other peoples children when you're an adult!
Bit iffy if you ask me. To be honest I think all GW adults should have a CRB if they want to hang around there.
The very thought of hanging around a GW on a Saturday with loads of screaming kiddies is not our idea of fun.
We go to an independent games store, that runs kiddie ga,es during the week day evenings (except Fri and Sat nights) and Sat daytimes.
On Friday nights and Sat nights, it's over 18's only, and Fri nights they keep the shop open till 3am for proper tournaments with the older players. The're probably about 20 of us, average age 35-40.
Some of us do the Warhammer 40K, some do Warhammer Fantasy, some do Flames of War (WW2 mini tabletop gaming), some do Necromunda, Bloodbowl, Mordheim.
None of our crowd would dream of visiting a GW to play tabletop with the sprogs, for many reasons, one of which you pointed out. We have our own adult's night thank you very much !Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. BTW. Did I ever mention I came 3rd in the Games Workshop World Gaming championships in 1989? I never actually lost a battle. The guy who won, lost to me in the first game but then trounced some idiot in the 2nd and won on points. If you ask me. I'm the REAL CHAMP!What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

I've just got back from drinking where 2 of the people I hung out with are developers. One of them I know quite well the other one not so well, but I've hung out with them in a large group more than once.
Having asked a few questions I found out we all have similar traits including the fact we are happy to spend a lot of hours on our own doing something. Just because you don't mind being on your own doesn't mean that you can't cope and are not happy being with other people at other times. It's a case of getting the balance right for yourself.
There as the 2 people I have worked with, with Aspergers/on the Autistic spectrum have learnt some skills to cope with working with people. I only found out that they had a issue when they freaked out about something to me that wasn't a big concern changing and they explained why. Their managers left it to them to explain their "problem" to me."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
