Yep! No chance. Back end slipping out is pretty scary stuff and difficult/impossible to stop once it goes.

Snowing here, in great big lumps too.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Rear wheel drive + snow (note: snow, not ice) = much fun.

2WD cars are fine in the snow (even RWD) with the right tyres on. We should encourage the correct type of tyre for the season. In snow I'd rather drive a RWD car with winter tyres than a modern 4WD car built for perfornace with the wrong tyres on.

That would mean though storing and changing tyres each season. If you have somewhere you can then fair enough. Am sure if I left as set of spare tyres down in my car park they would be gone within seconds.

Think probably buying all season tyres is the best bet the way the weather is going here.

the difference winter specific tyres make against all season is astounding, I'd agree it's not really worth it for the Uk though as this type of winter is pretty rare but if you have the storage space I'd definately recommend it.

Started snowing moderately heavily now here, and I've got to go and fetch the car and its nice new starter motor from the car vet in a couple of hours
