You see, what you have said there is still not correct. What we should calculate is the rate x number of contractors/bench. That way we can see the value of the contracting market and how it has changed! What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -
Yup, sort out the bob situation and rates will look after themselves.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostThe message should be about the numbers being benched, not about taking rate cuts.
The PCG have got the wrong end of the horse here and showing extraordinary naivety.Comment

It doesn't matter how you spin it, even if you say £300/day is more like £40k/year, it's way more than the masses make in every-day jobs and the average Sun reader is going to think you're Mr MoneyBags.Originally posted by minestrone View PostReading that I do wish people would not blurt out fixed day rates, 300 hundred a day gets turned into 75 grand a year and then the message is instantly turned against us.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Why should Joe Bloggs care about the size of the contract market? Rates for contractors are pretty high and few will have sympathy for any rate cuts or the size of the market share diminishing. Being jobless and claiming unemployment due to being undercut by Bob is another matter.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostYou see, what you have said there is still not correct. IMO the message should also be about the barely-above-minimum-wage rates being advertised for some highly skilled roles.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostThe message should be about the numbers being benched, not about taking rate cuts.Comment

And why we are bringing them in when there are people here that could do the work.Originally posted by BenchMaster View PostIMO the message should also be about the barely-above-minimum-wage rates being advertised for some highly skilled roles.Comment

I actually wish there was a more militant contractor group for IT folk.
I think the Bob situation could be easily sorted if some people got motivated and grew a big set of balls.
The PCG are so crap on this subject they honestly look to me like they work for the other camp.Comment
