    This may seem like a fine point, but AFAIK you are not obliged to tell anyone because you are leaving the country, but you do have to provide information if you are claiming not to be liable for UK tax any more.

              Indeed, you are free to do as you wish. If you want to leave the country and stop paying tax, tell the tax man otherwise he might not agree you left in 33 years time.

                      The principle is general: you do not need to tell them where you are going just because you are going there, but particular actions or circumstances may require that you do. For example if you have a UK driving licence then it must be up to date with an address in the UK at which you can always be contacted.
