Turned down a contract

All the pimp told me was "south Wales" - he then guessed at Cardiff until I told him that it was more likely to be Newport.

Still - at that rate, unless it was in my study, I wasn't interested in the slightest.

I've had 5 1/2 months at home not working now, and could do with getting out of the house - but not at that price.

Well done. I'm pretty much only in the local market ( bench dweller as of today ) as I know the rates on offer won't make it worth my while staying in hotels and putting up with all the associated tulip. For local work I'll go down to bob rates.

I'm doing you a favour by not taking tulipe rates. Only when lots of people refuse the low rates will the rates go up.

Spot on attitude to have Mich and absolutely right, if we bend over and take it now you can bet in a years time you will still be touching your toes.

Unfortunately at the moment there are people who are desperate and will take the rate and no one can blame them but the more people that stand their ground the sooner we will get back some respect and decent rates for everyone

I told a pimp the other day that it wasn't worth my while to apply for the role at that rate. Felt good

He tried selling it as "it's only a 4 week rolling contract so there's plenty of chance to find something else..." but I told him that no matter how short it was, if it wasn't worth my while, it's not worth my while.

Not as bad as telling you it's a low rate but at least it's long-term. I've never seen what's good about that.
